RUPA A5X Android 6.0 4K TV Box

Very nice Android box and for anyone not wanting to read through the whole review I would recommend it. I know a lot of people get very confused on what to get with all the information, varied claims and misinformation around, I am not going to try and tell you what to get I am just going to suggest you go for an android box with 2G of memory and the reason is to future proof yourself with newer versions of applications requiring more memory such as the next version of Kodi (17)

The Android box comes in a plain brown box with a HDMI cable, power adapter, instruction manual and remote control very similar to the one you get with a Firestick but of much better quality. I would note there are no batteries with the remote control not a big deal but would also say these boxes all come with a remote and I would suggest investing in a keypad remote which can be found on Amazon for around £7 they always have a better range and come with a rechargeable battery pack.

After unpacking the Android box is nice and compact, on powering it up you get a blue LED light on the front, it comes with Android 6.0.1 which is a simple tile menus easy to navigate with several apps pre-installed. I use a network connection but tested the wireless which works fine and you will need to set this up when you begin by going to the settings on the main screen then Network selecting either WiFi or Ethenet.

KODI media center is often the main reason for purchasing an android box and this is linked on the main screen, on starting it has Kodi version 16.1 the latest stable build so all the software seems very up to date. I fired up Kodi and it has several of the main add-ons ready installed although I will install a build on this my favourite build at the moment Pulse CCM but there are masses available. I would say if you are new to Kodi then have a play and navigate the menu trying a few things to get used to it before installing any builds.

I checked all the specifications of the boxes claims and they all match and it runs nice and smooth, this box has ‘AML S905X Quad-Core 64-bit Cortex-A53 up to 1.5GHz,Penta-Core Mali-450 Up to 750Mhz; Mali-400MP2 quad core 400MHz; 2GB DDR3, 8GB Flash’ with 4 x USB ports, an SD card slot and AV port, I have attached some pictures and a video which should hopefully show you more clearly.

What I liked
**************
- Works flawlessly out of the box
- Comes with the latest operating system and latest Kodi
- Has a proper UK plug not an adaptor one
- Nice designed box
- Remote control is actually very good, a lot of Android box remotes are not

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- Batteries not included for the remote but very picky and won’t penalise it for this

Summary
**********
Overall a very nice compact Android box which comes with the most up to date software ready installed, it runs nice and smooth and with 2G of memory is ready for future software updates that will require more memory.
