Soyes Mini Smartphone Review

This arrived in a simple lift top box with the phone on the top in a rubber protective insert with foam covering the top, below the phone it has a two pin European style charge plug, a USB-C to USB-A charge lead and a small user manual, although the charge plug is a two pin European style it clearly states this will be the case and a three pin UK plug would be an additional purchase, I don’t consider this any sort of issue as the provided lead will charge it via any USB socket.

First impressions, the phone has a good weight to it, is thicker than an average phone, all the finishing on it looks very high quality and with the rubber wrap around it feels like it would withstand being dropped or banged about without causing any damage, it has everything you would expect to see on a larger phone but at a reduced size.

I put the phone on charge via the USB-C socket in the base, this has a rubber cover which can be a bit fiddly to open, and the manual is all very small text with no diagrams or pictures to assist although it does go through all the functions and features. I fitted two sim cards into the phone, the design of the sim card holder is quite neat with the sims going above and below on the slider and it takes a Nano sim and a Micro (USIM) on the bottom, it is also possible to fit a micro SD card for as an alternative to one sim but not in addition to dual sims.

Once it was charged I turned it on, the language defaulted to Dutch so I had to guess/navigate through the menu to switch the language to English, once I had set it to English I had a good look through the features, the phone has facial recognition which I set up and that worked very well, I set up the fingerprint unlocking and this also worked very well with the fingerprint pad being on the back of the phone. I tested out the cameras and they are fairly good with a two megapixel front and eight megapixel rear cameras, the quality more than acceptable.

The phone comes with Android 6 (marshmallow) which is quite an old version but works very well with the phone being nice and fast to navigate and I liked the menu system, I was quite surprised how loud the phone would go considering its size although playing music through the phone speaker is a bit tinny, The battery is 1900mAh and I found it lasts a full day with heavy use and over two days plus with minimum use before it needing charging.

Overall I have been using the phone since it arrived as my main phone and everything works perfectly, I thought phone calls might be a bit difficult to hear but its fine, the menu system is fast, well thought out and easy to navigate, it’s durable, shockproof and waterproof so will put up with a lot of rough treatment, it fits easily into a small pocket and has a good loud ring tone along with some of the most recent features such as facial recognition. The default language being Dutch, opening the charge port being fiddly and the manual only being small text with no diagrams are the only things stopping me giving this top marks.

OUKITEL K5, 4G 5.7 inch Smartphone with Android 7.0 Review

My daughter cracked the screen on her phone a few weeks ago and although it still worked and had not disrupted the pixels it is still a bit of a mess, I looked into getting the screen replaced but due to the cost it really seemed better to get her another phone after making her suffer the broken one for a few weeks :)

As my daughter listens to a lot of music on her phone along with surfing and social media she needed something smooth, fast and that would have the ability to extend the storage by taking a micro SD card and this looked ideal giving the option of duel sim or sim and a micro SD card which she is now using.

The phone arrived in an orange branded OUKITEL box nicely packed and presented with the instructions and lead in the bottom along with already being fitted with a rubber bumper case for added protection. After unpacking it I said I would set it all up for her and put all her music on a micro SD card for her which gained a ‘thanks dad’ high praise indeed.

Setting it up was very simple just running through a few options most of which I skipped for my daughter to set up her personal settings and then went on to give it a good test going through all the features, first impressions where it’s quite heavy and feels around the same weight as a iphone 6 with a similar look and lightning fast flicking through the menus, the first thing I did was to test out the duel sims although it isn’t something she will be using I wanted to make sure it was all working smoothly if she ever needed it.

Duel sims work perfectly and it gives the ability to set a different ringtone to callers and unlike the iphone it’s a simple case of selecting a music track or ring tone the phone and assigning it to the caller something apple don’t allow, I rang each sim number and it switches automatically with no messing about, I connected it to the home wireless which was very simple and did a bit of surfing on it all very fast and smooth watching some videos on YouTube and reading through the BBC website.

The menu is very clean and easy to navigate with features such as switching the wallpaper almost instant, I got my daughter to set up her finger print to open the phone and also added mine as you can add several finger prints for opening the phone and it seems to work flawlessly or at least I couldn’t get it to fail and it opened every time.

The camera is really impressive and I took it outside to test out the panoramic feature which is extremely impressive with the results giving a picture I have not been able to see any flaws or joins in, the front camera is also very impressive but I didn’t post any pictures as with my ugly mug I didn’t want to frighten anyone :)

After finishing setting it all up and filling my daughters micro SD card and fitting her sim it was handed over with warnings about looking after it, she won’t get another one blah blah blah and she absolutely loves it, keeps raving about the speed and how great the sound and display are compared to her old phone.

  • 18:9 Full Screen 2.0 The screen edge is revolutionary narrowed by another 12%, offering more pure viewing experience on the 18:9 full display. The moment you light up the OUKITEL K5, you will find that this is what the full screen really should be.
  • Dual-lens Rear Camera OUKITEL K5 prepares a 13MP and a 2MP secondary lens for the rear camera, offering SLR shooting experience. For the front camera, it gets 5MP 80°wide angle camera for shooting.
  • Dual curved design Meets IML Craft OUKITEL K5 4G smartphone gets 2.5D curved screen and 3D curved battery cover. With poly-carbonated and IML craft, creating a stunning 3D flowing battery cover and mellow edge.
  • XLocker & Large Battery Lock your SIM free smartphone as well as APPs by the press fingerprint of K5, safe and professional. It features 4000mAh long lasting battery. Together with the intelligent power consumption management system, K5 offers longer using time.
  • Chinoiserie Style K5 combines Chinese classic ceramic element, modern 3D space design and fashionable IML craft, creating a delicate elegant art.
Overall this is a very nice phone, fast and smooth, easy and simple menu system, huge battery capacity with my daughter saying she only charges it every few days compared with twice a day with her old phone, great quality cameras with a nice camera app offering loads of features, no messing about with complicated interfaces when you want to add or change anything it’s just a simple case of plugging it into the USB port of your PC and you have full access or dropping stuff to micro SD card and inserting that. I’m impressed with it and my daughter loves it so it gets full marks from me.

ExquizOn P8I Pico Video Projector Portable Android 7.0 Built in Review

I do several coaching and guidance seminars a year and part of this includes me using a projector, I have been struggling with an old large projector for a few years but it was time to retire it as its heavy, has a very limited menu with no Wi-Fi option, it’s noisy, the projection quality isn’t the best and it’s a real pain carrying all the leads including an extension lead due to many places not having a power point near the setup area.

I chose the ExquizOn P8I Pico due to it being small enough to slip into my case, it having a two hour plus battery life which is more than adequate for my presentation, I can use media from USB and micro SD cards via the on-board slots, it has a base Android 7 operating system which allows me to install apps and utilities and has an inbuilt Wi-Fi so can be used for streaming online content or surfing the internet.

It arrived in a lift top black branded box with the projector on top boxed up much the same as a new phone is having the HDMI lead, instructions, power supply and stand below. Although I had already seen the size dimensions it still surprised me how small it actually was and I set it up to give it a good test, the HDMI slot on the side takes a full size HDMI connection which is great as I know some have a step down to mini HDMI meaning you need an adapter. The Android menu is very clean and simple to use with a couple of preinstalled apps on the main screen and a browser.

After linking it to my Wi-Fi I tested a few of the apps and the browser all of which worked great and also tested the Eshare app something I have not used before but once installed on my iphone 6 very simple to mirror my iphone to the projector screen, I tested some live TV and found the projection quality superb with a little wheel on the side for fine focus, I linked it up to my Xbox One to test a bit of gaming and this also looked great, I hooked it up to my PC which gave me a huge screen display, very clear and usable, I tested a bit of media on USB and micro SD card as this is something I will be using when giving a seminar and it was very easy to use from the FileExplorer on the main screen and worked great.

In summary this is a great easily portable projector which is very quiet without any complicated setup that gives you over two hours playtime from the battery should you need it, the picture quality is superb and with the Android 7 operating system making it highly versatile for a multitude of different uses, I have used it for one seminar so far and worked perfectly allowing me to set it up on a desk, switch it on and away I went no hassle.

  • Pico Size & Large Projection The projector has a palm size just like a smartphone and light weight of 255g. It can be even carried in your pocket. Yet its projection is still up to 120 inch. The projection distance is from 1 to 3 meters.
  • Smart Projector with Android 7.0 The little device runs the latest Android OS 7.0 and combine with 1GB RAM +8GB ROM. You can install APPs like Netfix and Youtube to watch online videos or just save the video on its internal storage.
  • DLP Chips for High Quality Picture DLP (Digital Light Processing) makes it possible to give high quality image from its small body. 1080P full HD,1000:1 contrast ratios and 100 ANSI Lumens brightness. Same as a common and huge LED projector.
  • Wireless Connection: Wifi and Bluetooth Project your phone easily via wifi with no cables. 2.4G & 5G dual-band Wi-Fi offers stable connection. With BT 4.0, you can connection keyboard or speakers with it.
  • Better and Convenient Viewing Experience Multi interfaces: HDMI, USB, TF card port and 3.5mm jack for speaker and earphones. Auto keystone correction is available. 4500mAh battery offers 2.5 hrs life for playing.

Ulefone MIX Unlocked 4G 5.5" Smartphone with Android 7.0 Review

Really nice design sleek and powerful phone, after asking what my eldest son wanted for Christmas he replied ‘a new iphone I have broken mine’, after 30 minutes of me ranting about how extortionately overpriced iphones are, how restrictive they are not even allowing you to set the mp3’s you own as ringtones and so much more I talked him round to having an Android phone and agreed to get him one for Christmas.

After having a good look round and showing him the features we agreed the Ulefone MIX was ideal, good price and he really liked the idea of dual cameras on the back, not something that’s important to me but he seems to live his life through pictures on social media so the camera is a priority feature for him.

It arrived in a lift top white Ulefone branded box which opened up to the phone already in a rubber protective back case on the top with the sim release pin, instructions, screen protector, charge lead and Ulefone branded ring stand holder underneath, it also came with a UK three pin plug USB charge socket separate. After giving it a full charge I went through setting it up with my son.

The manual is clear and takes you through the basics of the phone and getting it up and running, the setup is very straight forward taking you through step by step allowing you to skip some bits and add them later such as the finger print recognition all being very smooth and fast taking no time to have it up and running, my son added his finger prints again very simple to do and with the ability to add more than one he added both his thumbs so it could be opened when you are holding it in either hand.

The cameras are really impressive with the mix sports dual cameras on the back recording superb video and crystal clear photos and the front camera even with my son’s ugly mug taking some great shots, the operating system is Android 7.0 Nougat so nice and quick, I liked the fact the phone didn’t come packed with loads of pointless apps you may never use and after setting up a Google account for him we went onto the play store and downloaded a few of the apps he used to use on his iphone, the video quality is very impressive with vivid colours and sharp details, the sound is great and crystal clear even at full volume no distortion.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, fitting the sim and a micro SD card for extra storage, then running through the setup showing the finger print recognition setup, testing the camera and video, running through the menu system and showing a bit of live video from YouTube and screen capturing some shots. We did test the duel sim option was working with my sim and it switches flawlessly between sims but at the moment my son wants to put all his music on the micro SD card so stuck with that.

  • Pure Android 7.0 Nougat breathes brand-new life for Android user with enhanced smoothness. Powered by outstanding MT6750T octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, it can effortlessly satisfy your demands on smooth and fast user experience.
  • The MIX equipped with dual cameras on the back, 13.0MP + 5.0 MP, highlights the main subjects throuth blurring the background. 13MP front camera along with F/2.2 aperture, makes every selfie look sharp, clear and bright.
  • With 3300mAh battery, ensures a long service between charges, and can offer you the juice for a whole day using. The MIX comes with the front-facing fingerprint identification solution for both amazing convenience and exclusive access to your personal information.
  • Outstanding Appearance: Set you free from the boundaries, 5.5 HD display on the MIX with bezel-free viewing experience. With the amazing full display on the MIX, you can experience more immersive visual enjoyment that you never had before when watching movies or playing games.
  • Supports 2G/3G/4G unlocked network, supports dual SIM card dual standby. MIX equipped with the advanced AW8737S audio chipset, which delivers high-resolution audio in sound quality.

GooBang Doo Android 7.1 BOX 2GB RAM 16GB ROM Review

Really nice compact and smooth running Android box, I got this for the TV in my daughters room, it’s a very nice older 32” LCD Samsung but is not a smart TV and rather than getting rid of a perfectly good TV just to upgrade to a newer smart TV we decided to add on an Android box giving it all the features of a smart TV and so much more without the constraints of only being able to install a limited and selected amount of applications.

We wanted something with the latest operating system, WiFi, the ability to take a micro SD card and USB stick, be compact but also look nice, we wanted a box that would be able to have anything available installed to it so quickly ruled out boxes with only 1GB of ram and 8GB of rom as there are now programs they won’t run and 1GB of memory is not enough for the latest Android operating system. We decided this one looked ideal and purchased it.

It arrived in a nice flip top branded box opening up to the main Android box with the power lead, HDMI cable, remote control and manual being in a section under the box, the manual runs you through the setup of the box and is very clear and easy to follow, once I had set it up and switched it on it runs through an on screen setup allowing you to connect the WiFi and either login with your Google account to use the play store or create one if not, all very easy to follow and once finished you are all set to go.

The menu is very clean and easy to navigate and you have the ability to pin any applications you add or use a lot to the main front page, I know a lot of people just get Android boxes to run Kodi but they really are missing out if this is all they use them for and I have now installed the BBC iplayer app, ITV Hub, channel 5 (My5), channel 4 (All4) and the YouTube application which all work very well for watching videos, catch up and live TV.

My daughter has added a few games and connected a wireless keyboard we had so can surf the net, most of the applications and many of the games from the play store are free and simple to install making the whole process very painless and you don’t need to add any payment details to use the play store, an android box is great for bringing an old TV up to date with smart TV’s and perfect for anyone who either has a poor TV signal or a room without an aerial socket.

I found the GooBang Doo android box to work flawlessly, a great speed and smooth operating menu system, it looks nice with the clock in the front and the remote control is not cluttered with pointless buttons no one ever uses and has a simple layout with all the buttons you need. I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, going through the setup, navigating through the menu, starting a few apps and installing the ITV Hub from the play store to show how easy it is.

  • A SWEET UPDATE TO NOUGAT: GooBang Doo ABOX MAX TV box runs on the latest Android 7.1.2 OS which adds a handful of new features as well as optimization and bug fixes, rather than being radically different from the Marshmallow 6.0 version. With GooBang Doo's sleekest user interface, you can quickly find and enjoy the entertainment you are in the mood for.
  • NEW GENERATION MULTIMEDIA SOC: Powered by Amlogic Quad core A53 processor running at 2.0 GHz, it's fast enough to run video flawlessly. With a Mali 450MP3 GPU focusing on maximizing processing efficiency, it features high end video playback capabilities.
  • HIGH-LEVEL CONFIGURATION: 2GB DDR RAM, higher running speed, without buffering or breaking down; 16GB ROM Flash, other the other hand, has enough room for installing APKs, games etc. You can also expand the memory via micro SD card slot (up to 32GB).Never worry about running out of space.
  • EXTREME VISUAL FEASTS: The newest Amlogic processor supports 4K video decoding and HDR media profile. Whether you're streaming in HD, 4K, or HDR, you'll get clear, immersive picture quality that's optimized for your TV with crisp details and rich color. All the details will be caught by your eyes.
  • STRIKING LOOKING DESIGN: With its irregular shell and interesting geometric detail, GooBang Doo ABOX MAX TV box definitely stands out in a good way. The front illuminating LED displays how the item is connected (WIFI or LAN), and the time of day.

What I liked
*************
- Nice compact powerful android box
- It looks nice and has a clock display on the front a very nice touch
- 2GB of ram and 16GB of rom meaning it won’t have any issues playing any application available
- Comes with the most up to date android operating system
- The menu is easy to navigate and does not have a mass of applications you may not want or never use preinstalled
- Very easy to set up with a good setup walkthrough when you first switch it on
- Comes with a micro SD card slot, two USB slots and a network connection should you wish to hard wire rather than use the wireless

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I haven’t found anything to add here but if I do have any issues I will return and add them

Summary
**********
Overall this is a cracking little android box, it’s small but also powerful enough to run anything available, has the latest operating system and the menu is nice, clean and very fast with everything working flawlessly. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.

VERNEE M5 4GB RAM 64GB ROM Android Phone Review

Lightning fast smooth running android phone, after my wife lost her android phone she had taken mine to use so have let her keep it and decided to treat myself to a new one, I wanted something with a bit more powerful with 4GB ram and 64GB of rom memory and this looked ideal with a price I was comfortable with so decided to go ahead and purchase.

It arrived in a custom white branded lift top box with the phone on the top and accessories below including the instruction manual, the first thing I noticed was how much slimmer and lighter it was than my previous android phone, I was pleased to see the phone sim and memory card inserted into the side of the phone rather than having to take the battery out and place them in slots under it as is the case with my old phone.

After unpacking it all I inserted my sim card along with a 16GB micro SD card and then ran through the setup system, all very straight forward and it walks you through the options, I added my WiFi then added the other options such as adding security including fingerprint recognition, adding Google accounts so I could use the play store. When it was all set up it went to the main screen, a very clean layout and I was pleased to see it had not been bloated out with a load of apps I didn’t want or would never use.

I gave it a good test running some apps, installing a few apps from the play store I wanted all very smooth and lightning fast, I tested the front 8 mega pixel front camera and rear 13 mega pixel cameras both giving clear sharp results on both still images and video recording, the phone has a good solid sound from the inbuilt speakers and something I really like about Android phones I was instantly able to set a MP3 track from my music list as a ring tone no hassle, on my iphone it takes ages to do dropping it to the computer, converting it, renaming it then uploading it again a real pain.

I tested the Bluetooth linking my portable speaker to it which worked flawlessly and gave me a good 30 meter range before I experienced any drop out, I tested the dual sim which worked perfectly although I will be using an extended memory card with mine as it means I can load it up with masses of music to listen to on my morning run.

I have added a video to my review and will also add some pictures running through inserting the sim and memory card, going through the setup adding finger print recognition then going to the menu starting a few programs, going to the play store, playing some youtube video and changing the wallpaper.

  • 5.2 Inch One Hand Operation,1280*720 Pixel.Vernee M5 designed the classic 5.2 inch screen for one-hand operation lovers. 5.2screen and 2.5D glass, made up the M5 with great hand holding feeling. One habd operation, but still feel free and relax.
  • 4GB + 64GB Storage Flagship Combination, Support 128GB TF Card Expansion. 4GB big memory and Octa-core 64 bit processor, smooth experience omnipotence. Support external storage up to 128GB. No more worries for not enough storage.
  • 6.9mm Slim Design, Metal texture. 6.9mm slim body lines, make the phone looks exquisite and fashion. The Vernee M5 is very light when pick up. You could see the beauty in the simplicity.
  • 13 MP Back Camera + 8 MP Front Camera. Capturing the amazing moments, and enjoying a good time and take selfies.
  • 3300mAh Big Battery Longer Battery Life. The combination of 3300mAh big battery and Octa-core lower consumption CPU, bring a long battery life for Vernee M5 which the battery can standby for 10 days, no more worries of fast consumption when using it.

What I liked
*************
- Option to use dual sim or sim and micro SD card up to 128GB
- Very smooth running and extremely fast operation
- 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM
- Its running Android 7 the latest android operating system
- Slim and lightweight
- The phone wasn’t bloated with unnecessary apps, games and programs
- Really good battery life with up to 10 days on standby
- Ease of use not unique to this android phone but something I love about android the freedom of doing what you want without the constraints apple puts on you with iphone
- Good price, very good value for a phone with these specifications
- Fingerprint recognition, a nice feature but it also works flawlessly on this phone once set up it has recognised my print every time

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- The power lead comes with an adapter to UK 3 pin, not a big deal I have plenty of USB connections round the house just worth noting as I couldn’t fault it on anything else

Summary
**********
Overall I really love this phone, its lightning fast with smooth operation, comes with the latest android version and is packed with features so have no hesitation recommending it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.

Foxcesd Mini H9 Full 1080P Multimedia Projector Review

Great quality all singing and dancing projector, I was looking for a projector that would offer me a built in multimedia experience giving the ability to surf the net, add media applications and programs such as KODI, have the ability to link up to my PC, TV box and Xbox One but also switch seamlessly between from one to another and this seemed to fit my needs plus loads more.

It arrived in a custom lift top black box opening up to the projector packed into a foam cut out with the user manual on top, in separate boxes to the side of the projector it had the remote control, HDMI lead, AV cable and the power supply (UK plug). The manual is very detailed and all in English having diagrams and images linked to descriptive and explanatory text to fully explain the features and settings and I gave it a good read cover to cover before setting up the projector.

Once I was sure I fully understood the setup and features in the manual it was time to set up the projector, the setup is very simple and straight forward with the user manual covering all the aspects and I went on to set up the WiFi connection, I linked my Bluetooth sound bar via the built in Bluetooth all very straight forward not unlike connecting a phone or tablet. The projector has an adjustment wheel on the side for fine focus adjustment and in the device settings you can adjust the keystone to square the image on the wall or screen you are using which worked really well as I have a wall mount at a set height so used this for fine adjustment, you also have the ability to set this to auto, adjust the aspect ratio, vertical and horizontal scale along with other settings.

I had a look through the app store and installed KODI a very nice multimedia player which installed quickly and worked flawlessly, I have a HDMI switcher box which allows me to quickly switch HDMI source and I linked the main HDMI cable from the projector to this with my Xbox One, PC and freeview TV box connected and was able to switch flawlessly between HDMI source, the picture quality is superb giving me a massive screen around 70”. I tested the Ushare app which works really well connecting and mirroring my tablet to the screen and I tested the 3D which works really well and auto detected the 3D test film I tried adjusting with the 3D button on the remote control all very slick and well put together.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, going through the menu, loading up some apps, showing the settings then showing my Xbox One connected with some game play footage, connected to my desktop PC, some footage from my action camera played from the micro SD card inserted directly into the slot in the back of the projector and connected to my freeview TV box showing some live TV and the menu. Please note due to the difficulty filming a projected image and had to record from an angle means the video is showing the functions and not quality which was superb.

  • Advanced technology: DLP projector system, 1280 * 800 native resolution (compatible 1920 * 1080, 3350 AINSI≈3500 Lumen), HD 3D technology, 2000: 1 contrast ratio and 30,000 hours of lamp life, guarantee the high display quality of video or image even in the daytime.
  • Multi-functional: built-in Android 4.4 system, Bluetooth 4.0, WIFI (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Ethernet and speakers, Various image transmission paths: DLNA / Airplay / Miracast / WLAN etc .. Support surfing the internet, playing games, watching 2/3D movies, downloading app etc. You can do what you want.
  • Easy and convenient operation: touch panel, remote control, control panel of the unit, operation via app, mouse, keyboard etc. Keystone correction: ± 40 degrees (automatic / manual) Projection: front, rear / ceiling front / Rear (automatic / manual)
  • Multi interface connection: Support HDMI, AV, USB 3.0 & 2.0, microSD, RJ45 port. Compatible with computer, laptop, camera, DVD player, game console, keyboard, mouse, smartphone, set-top box, etc.
  • Portable and lightweight design: With dimensions of 6 * 4.7 * 1.2 inches and weighing 500g, the projector is easy to carry and can easily be shared with others. A great gift for friends and family.

What I liked
*************
- Lightweight compact sleek design
- Projection quality is superb
- Good easy to navigate base menu making it easy to install and use applications
- Easy to follow clear manual all in English
- Small remote control without the mass of unnecessary buttons you often find
- Very easy to set up
- Built in Bluetooth ideal for connecting a Bluetooth sound bar or speakers
- Has a micro SD card slot so playing footage to transferring files from a action camera or dash cam is simple
- USB 2 and USB 3 connections making it easy to watch movies or play music from the USB stick
- Addition of a touch control panel on the top in addition to the remote control
- The ability to play 3D movies
- Ethernet port should you wish to hardwire rather than use wireless connection something I am planning to do
- A multitude of features, settings and fine tuning options

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I am really struggling to find anything I don’t like about this projector but to be very picky the remote control does not come with any batteries so you need two AAA ready.

Summary
**********
Overall this is a cracking device which is really a multimedia projector, the picture quality is superb, the versatility along with the features it has are the reason I have given it full marks. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.

ALLDOCUBE 10.6" Android Tablet, iPlay10 Android 6.0 Review

Really great tablet and everything I wanted, I have been using an old ipad my wife gave me when she upgraded but really got fed up with its restrictions and having to use itunes which I personally find a real pain so thought it was time to get myself a more user friendly Android tablet.

I wanted something fairly large with a good clear display, something I could use a micro SD card in so as to make it a simple case of dropping all my music to it and any films I wanted to watch and just slot it into the tablet, I needed wireless and Bluetooth so I could link up either my ear buds or Bluetooth speaker easily, I wanted something that would also run Kodi which the ipad won’t allow and I needed something reasonably fast with everything else being a bonus.

This arrived in a brown lift top lid box in a black foam cut out with the micro USB charge lead underneath along with the instructions, the power adapter came in a separate box and is a standard UK 3 pin plug adapter. First impressions when I unpacked it were it felt good and solid with a nice weight to it and looking round it a very nice finishing on all the buttons and various sockets. The instructions book is fairly basic which is common with Android devices but goes through everything you need to know about the operation of the tablet.

Once I had given it a good charge I fired it up and when started I linked it up to my home WiFi, a very simple process and I was able to go online and log into the Play store using my Gmail account again a very simple process allowing me to start to download some of the applications I wanted. I was very pleased to see the tablet had not already been filled with a multitude of applications I may never use or want, just the basics allowing me to get it exactly how I want it.

First off I installed a screen recorder again something you can’t do on Apple products which allowed me to record some good footage of the tablet in use, I then installed Google Chrome which is my preferred browser and then I installed a YouTube app and also worth noting far more apps are free in the Play Store and with free being my favourite price I much prefer it to the Apple store.

The screen display really is superb and I found the tablet to be really smooth and quick to navigate, I did link up my Bluetooth speaker and ear buds but ran out of room on my video to show this but both worked flawlessly, I tested a 16GB micro SD card I had and that worked perfectly as it should, I linked it up to my desktop PC using the lead provided and this allowed me to transfer anything and everything back and forth from the tablet to PC without the hassle of having to run a bloated interface like itunes which is perfect for me.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, starting it up for the first time and then going on to install a couple of applications from the play store, testing the camera, playing some music, playing some video’s from YouTube, surfing the net and a couple of other things. Please note the video footage I recorded is crystal clear but due to size restraints I have had to reduce the quality somewhat and this also degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

DOOPRO C1 Pro Unlocked 4G Smartphone Review

I am really pleased with this phone its exactly what I wanted and needed, it arrived in a black branded box with the addition of a UK USB charge plug, the phone was in a little plastic bag with a plastic film covering the screen which had been ready fitted with a screen protector, in the bottom it had a USB charge lead, a rubber phone cover, a spare screen protector and the instructions.

I am relatively new to using android phones and my main phone is an iphone 6, this is more of an obligation than a choice as my wife is an avid apple fan and always has to have the latest version insisting that I take her old one, I could bang on for ages on how user unfriendly the iphone is not even allowing you to set your own mp3’s as ringtones or making you jump through multiple hoops just to transfer a bit of music over but I think it’s enough to say it annoys me greatly on a daily basis.

I really needed a second phone that was far more user friendly and this seemed to fit everything I wanted, it would take a micro SD card so I could put a load of music on without the worry of running out of memory and also store and more video’s and pictures to it, it can take duel sims something I wanted mainly to keep call costs down, my wife was on the same network as myself but has switched and as I didn’t want to switch I decided the best thing I could do was get another sim on the same network she has now so as to save call costs.

After unboxing I started it up and found it to be lightning quick scrolling through the menu and options, I added a micro SD card with some music on to give that a test and added a two sim cards to test the duel call feature this worked flawlessly and I installed a nice little application called DU recorder my friend had recommended to me a while ago but of course not available on iphone so as to record live action from the phone.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing me unboxing it, starting it up testing various features including the duel sim call, taking some pictures and video, browsing through the menus and app store, setting up the security finger print recognition which is a really nice feature and works really well, I also like the shape recognition feature to unlock and found this far quicker than a pin code. My original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded.

  • OS: Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with 1.3GHz, Qualcomm MSM8909 Quad-core processor and 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, dual SIM card dual standby, supporting 4G/3G/2G network and wifi. This processor delivers great performance so that everything on C1 Pro happens faster and smoothly.
  • 5.3 inch large 10-point-touch IPS capacitance touch screen, with 1280 x 720 pixels HD screen. Smart wake, quick entry the application with gestures while the phone in the deep sleep mode. Very comfortable for watching movies or videos and playing games.
  • 8.0MP (Interpolation to 13.0MP) high definition back camera with auto focus, support full screen mode and standard (4:3) mode. 2.0MP (interpolation to 5.0MP) front camera, make your selfies more distinctive.
  • Ultra Experience--Wireless Update. Pre-installed Android 6.0 O.S., download plenty of apps on popular Play Store. Support wireless system update, one-stop, no pain solution for using your phone.
  • Supports Android navigation, built-in GPS navigation with A-GPS assisted, makes the positioning swiftly and accurately. Supports most APK format Android game and applications.

What I liked
*************
- Nice looking and well designed
- Duel sim feature works flawlessly
- Takes a micro SD card giving masses of additional storage
- Really smooth and fast
- Great battery life, lasts for days on a single charge rather than a day if I am lucky on my current phone
- Photo and video quality seems really nice, I know it’s not top of the range but it’s superb for what it is
- Great price, great value at a fraction of the cost of an iphone
- A multitude of features and functions
- The play store is great, I know it’s not so much a phone feature but it really so easy to navigate compared to the apple store

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I haven’t found anything I don’t like and if anything this is way beyond my expectations, if I do have any niggles I will return and add them

Overall I really love this phone, it fits all my needs and really is so much better than I expected it to be and it gets full marks from me. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.

Oukitel K6000 Plus Unlocked 4G Smartphone

I decided it was time to ditch my iPhone, while the iPhone works well enough I always feel like I am being controlled and restricted at every move with limitations being there purely to monopolise my custom rather than to protect or give me greater control and don’t even get me started on how bloated and unfriendly iTunes is.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this as there were several things I wanted/needed, I wanted a fast interface, plenty of memory with the ability to fit extra storage space with a micro SD card, finger print recognition a great feature on most new phones now, I wanted a good quality camera for video and snaps, decent battery life, I wanted something the same size as I already had as I am used to the screen size now (iphone 6), something that could be used with duel sim having an auto switch type feature so it would ring instantly on either sim, the Oukitel K6000 Plus had all this and anything else would be a bonus.

The phone arrived in a solid orange box well protected and already fitted with a rubber protective case, a USB adapter cable so I could plug in USB devices something I longed to do on the iphone but they wouldn’t allow it, and charge cable with a myACT fast charger plug in a separate box with a UK plug, a basic manual, spare screen protector and a sim removal pin. The phone looks really sleek with an aluminium back and the front glass being ever so slightly bevelled towards the edges and around the same weight as an iPhone 6 maybe slightly heavier but hardly noticeable.

It was time to fire it up, the first start up took me through the setup all very easy to follow and a lot of options I just skipped as I would be adding them later and first wanted to give it a good test with the duel sim and using a micro SD card. The interface is really clear and very responsive and it hasn’t been overloaded with apps so I didn’t have to spend ages removing things I didn’t use or would never use.

I have added a video running through the first start-up, adding two sims and testing them, adding a micro SD card and testing that by running a bit of video off it, I also tested a few other things and had to slightly speed the video up to get it down to the size limitations, please be aware the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

I set up the Fingerprint Sensor very simple process and this not only works instantly it’s mega fast and I have yet to have a fail, you just have to rest your finger or thumb on the start button not press and that’s it, I have set it up for both my thumbs which saves switching hands if you are holding it in your fingerprint hand.

I tested the cameras both front and back and am really pleased with the quality of both video and pictures, I really liked the clarity of the FHD (Full High Definition) screen, really sharp and crisp as was the playback quality of the video. The battery life is superb and is a welcome change from my iPhone which needs charging twice a day, the charging is nice and quick using a fast charger and you also have an estimated remaining battery life statistic in the settings.

What I liked

- Fingerprint sensor, not only a great feature but works flawlessly on this phone
- Very fast to charge
- Takes duel sims switching between them instantly
- Ability to expand the storage capacity with a micro SD card
- The price, I know I could have spent twice this but I wouldn’t have got twice the phone, this zips through the menu and gives me all the speed and power I could need
- Nice simple menu with a bright clear screen

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I haven’t found anything as I am really loving this phone but if I do have any issues I will return to this review and list them.

Summary
**********
This is my first Android phone and I am delighted with it, I have not gone into technical details as they are listed and for myself the real reality is how it stacks up when you use it and I find this phone superb, flying through the menu’s and applications, switches between sim cards flawlessly when you get a phone call and not constantly having to be on charge, for all these reasons I have given it five stars. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.
