This is a really nice and effective USB 3.0 Hub, I wanted a USB 3.0 hub to put on the top of my computer but with a lead long enough to reach the USB ports at the back of the computer, this was ideal with eight ports and a lead that reaches right to the back allowing me to have the USB hub on top of my desktop PC box rather than running from the USB 3.0 port on the front which I have been doing with a much smaller HUB.
This USB 3.0 Hub has some really nice features, the unit has the ability to connect an external power supply which is provided so you can increase the power supply to the unit so you can attach heavy power consuming USB chargeable units and get a good steady power supply increasing the charge time taken or use this unit as a standalone charge unit for USB devices.
Each USB 3.0 port has an on/off switch with a blue LED indicator so you can not only have just the ports in use switched on you can easily see which ports you are using, the power button switches on with a single press and turns off by holding down the button for a few seconds, a nice feature that avoids accidentally switching a USB port off.
I ran a test on each port checking the transfer rate using a couple of free programs (CrystalDiskMark and FlashBench), first I put a micro SD card into a USB 3.0 card reader and plugged it directly into the USB 3.0 port on my desktop PC to get a speed reading from a direct connection as a benchmark, I then plugged in the USB 3.0 hub and repeated the same process on each port of the USB hub with the card reader and micro SD card and found no loss of speed either read or write on the card and got virtually the same scale of results with very little variant.
