Vatos RC (Upgraded) Remote Control 4x4 Monster Buggy Review

Good fun zippy little monster buggy that’s great fun to drive, having already purchased a larger truck for myself I took it over to the fields and let my 10 year old daughter have a go, it was a little too big for her to handle so I decided to buy her one of her own.

Unboxing this it was fastened down to the base with cable ties so you will need something to cut these to release it, it comes with a few spare fastening clips for the bonnet, the USB charge cable and manual, this monster buggy shows all the qualities of the bigger Vatos truck with the difference of the battery fitting into the side rather than the bottom but the quality and finishing is the same and also very nice with great attention to detail.

The truck is coated in a very thin plastic protective film you peel off and after giving the battery a full charge it was time to give it a test run, as with the larger truck make sure the first time you turn it on you first switch on the monster buggy then you switch on the remote control while holding down the bind button to link it, this is something you only have to do once and it then auto connects next time you use it.

The monster buggy is nice and nippy with a top speed of nearly 25mph and once you are used to the control very easy to drive, I ran it round on the grass and also on the road then set up a simple jump to test its jumping skills and mine, it performed really well and was huge fun, my daughter loves it and ran it until the battery needed charging then after a couple of hours charging was back out with it and has already mastered the controls.

X-DNENG 15000mAh Waterproof Solar Power Bank Review

Great product, works exactly as it should, I wanted a solar powered power bank for my mother-in-law, my wife is Filipina and her parents still live in the provinces in the Philippines and electricity can be somewhat unstable often getting power cuts that last for days so this is an ideal gift for her to charge her phone and with the solar recharge also top it up easily.

It arrived in a brown flip lid box with a carabiner, micro USB charging lead and a manual. I put the power bank on charge and had a read through the manual which is simple and basic with clear instructions and numbered diagrams linked to descriptions of what they are and uses, all you really need to know.

Once the power bank had fully charged I wanted to test its capacity and off a single charge managed to recharge my iphone 6 from 4% to 100%, my daughters ipad mini from 9% to 100%, my Android phone from 18% to 100% and a Fire tablet from 0% to 100%, the charge rate seemed reasonably quick and I still had one blue light indicator on and could have probably drained the remaining and got a bit more.

I put it on my balcony to test the solar recharge, I left it there for about 6 hours and it was a reasonably sunny day one of the few we have had this summer and it charged 25% which may not sound a lot but it is enough to give a full charge to an iphone 6 so if you are outdoors or have access to direct sunlight you can constantly be topping it up and ideal for my mother-in-laws use.

I have added a short video and will also add some pictures showing unboxing, testing the flashlight which worked perfectly and the modes worked as described in the manual, I then linked up a couple of devices and will apologise for my fat fingers fiddling to get the connectors in, finally I just ran a flashlight over the panel to show the green indicator light coming on instantly as it starts to solar charge. Please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

OldShark 4K WIFI Sports Action Camera, Car Dash Cam Review

Extremely versatile action camera with masses of features and functions and great quality recording, this arrived in a pale blue Oldshark branded box that opened to reveal the camera case with a zip round the side. On opening it up it had cut outs in the black foam to hold all the parts and the camera, at the top it had webbing containing additional fixings, the manual for the camera and the selfie stick.

While I put the camera on charge with the USB lead supplied I had a good read through the manual which is glossy and very clear, none of this hard to read almost photocopy tat you sometimes see, the front of the manual is nearly all dedicated to showing you the accessories, how and what they fit to and how they link together all very detailed with good illustrations and diagrams showing what all the parts are on the camera all labelled, it then follows on to getting started which continues on the reverse side.

I went straight to the QR code and downloaded the WDTCam application to my Android phone all very simple and the manual walks you through connecting the camera to your phone via WiFi. Once the camera was fully charged I put a 16gb micro SD card in and ran through the settings on the camera then linked it via WiFi to my phone and opened up the WDTCam application, a very nice app giving you full control of the camera and allowing you to change the settings of the camera from the menu.

This isn’t just an action camera it also doubles as a dash cam and after testing it this isn’t just a ‘You can also use it as’ it has the full functions you find on most dash cams such as motion detection, loop recording, number plate setting etc so it is also a fully functioning dash cam should you with to use it as one.

I wanted to show as much recording as I could so first off put it on top of my monster truck and had a bit of a drive round and it handled this very well capturing some great footage, I then asked my daughter to take it out round the block on her scooter which also worked very well and then I gave the waterproof case a good test which it passed with flying colours no leakage what so ever.

Please note the footage I got is crystal clear but due to size restraints I have had to reduce the quality somewhat and this also degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

Vatos (Upgraded) Remote Control Racing Monster Truck Review

A very fast crazy monster truck that’s great fun, I am a total novice when it comes to driving remote control vehicles but wanted something with a bit of meat on the bone and loads of power,  this looked ideal as I wasn’t brave enough to get a kit and attempt the construction myself.

This arrived in a big branded box nice and neatly packed and protected, after unpacking everything I released the catch on the bottom of the truck (very simple to do) and took the battery out and put it on charge via the USB adapter that came with it and had a read through the manual.

The manual is mixed language on the same page so you have to find your relevant language although not really any sort of issue as there are only a few things you really need to know to be up and running, make sure the first time you turn it on you first switch on the truck then you switch on the remote control while holding down the bind button to link it, this is something you only have to do once and it then auto connects next time you use it.

After I had pealed the protective film off the truck and the battery was fully charged and connected back into the truck I decided to take it outside and give it a whirl. I have flown a few drones and am not bad at flying them but driving a remote controlled vehicle was going to be a challenge. I adjusted the steering rate knob and turning trim knob until I was happy that it was going to steer straight, turn correctly and not too fast.

The truck is very fast and I was trying my best not to crash as I got to grips with the remote control although I did have a few bumps it didn’t damage the truck at all so it seems extremely robust and it does come with a few spare parts I presume the ones most commonly damaged or lost. It was really great fun to drive and nothing seems to stop it running over everything in its path, I never had anything like this as a child and I am making up for it now, I do plan to let my daughter learn to drive it but I am going to take her over to the big field near us so there isn’t anything to smash into.

ExquizOn S6 Pocket Cube DLP Smart Video Projector Review

A cracking projector I’m really pleased with it, I wanted something for the bedroom but didn’t want one of the big noisy projectors and also wanted something with a good quality picture but mobile so I could easily set it up in my daughters room and remove it after without much fuss or even set it up in the garden on nice summer nights should they ever arrive.

This looked ideal so I ordered it, the projector arrived in a small branded sleeved box around four times the size of the camera, inside on the top layer the projector was in the center with the remote control, instruction manual and mini tripod, on the second layer it had the power lead adapter, HDMI to mini HDIM lead and HDMI to mini HDMI adapter all very well packed into custom shaped plastic.

The projector is very small, I know it gives the dimensions but it wasn’t until I unwrapped it and had it in my hand I realised just how small it was, the first thing I did was to put it on charge and have a good read of the manual, this is a very smooth glossy manual with good clear instructions and pictures and after it was charged I set it up in the bedroom to give it a test.

I first tested it with my Android box and with the auto focus feature it really is a breeze, I just plugged it into the back of the projector using the HDMI to mini HDMI adapter and selected HDMI from the menu and it was up and running, I then set up my daughters Xbox 360 using the same process and again worked flawlessly, I did attach a portable speaker I have using the audio out port on the back which produced a good solid sound. After this I put a few things on a micro SD card to test, an episode of Game Of Thrones, some footage from my action camera, a few pictures and some music, all very simple to access either selection Movie, Music or Picture and all worked perfectly.

I set up the Airplay on my iphone 6 and it was fairly straight forwards following the instructions and worked really well, I was impressed as this is the first time I have tried Airplay the only thing to note is you enter the number shown after the PSK shown under your WifiDisplay screen, just the number not the PSK bit.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing unboxing and going through trying my Android box, Xbox 360, and playing music, movies and pictures. Please note it’s really difficult to get a good recording of screen projection due to the flicker but I did my best and my original video quality is good but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

Besteker Portable 1080P 24MP 16X Mini Video Camcorder Review

I got this as a mess around camera to take with us whenever we go out, I already have an GoPro Hero5 but this is mainly used when I’m out cycling and as good as it is there are a lot of limitations not least the not having a zoom feature and having to be linked to a mobile device to see what you are filming plus as it’s so expensive I am always worried it will get damaged when I let my daughter use it.

This isn’t and doesn’t pretend to be a top of the range all singing and dancing camcorder and this is also reflected in the budget price but it is a good solid camcorder with a lot of features, settings and a good clear swivel LCD screen to view footage as you record or replay captured footage, adjust and alter settings.

On unpacking it I was surprised just how small and compact it was and liked the simple but effective carry case, the battery slots into the bottom and is charged while in the camera and sitting next to the battery housing is the slot for the SD card, I used a micro SD card in a SD card adapter which worked perfectly. On the rear of the camera you have the charge port and socket for TV connection, I noticed in the settings under USB you can set it to PCCAM so I presume it can be set and used as a webcam for a PC but I have not tried this feature.

While giving the battery a full charge I have a good read through the manual, it’s fairly comprehensive and explains all the features, settings and how to navigate the menu, it was time to give it a test, first off I recorded a bit of footage off my balcony and tested the zoom, all worked well and footage was very clear, I took it with me on a walk to the shops and recorded a bit of footage and also tested the black and white which was a very clear recording and Sepia which gave a reddish-brown colour the sort you see with old monochrome photographs and movies from the 1920’s all good fun.

Fantime Bluetooth V4.1 Sports Headphone With Charging Box Review

As my daughter has managed to lose her headphones I made her go without any for a week but I finally cracked and decided to get her some more as it seemed to be more of a punishment for me than her having to listen to her music and the mindless pap she listens to on YouTube.

These arrived in a little brown flip lid box with the headphones in the charge unit and USB power lead, spare ear buds and manual underneath, the manual is clear and easy to follow so I put the charging case on charge and had a good read through.

Once the charge unit was fully charged I gave them a test, pairing is a breeze just switch them both on together with the little power button on the front of the ear buds then go to the Bluetooth on the device you are using and look for ‘BO2’ and select it to pair and you ready to go.

The controls on the ear buds have a basic pause and play control for music by pressing either the main button on either ear bud all other music/sound controls are done via the Bluetooth linked device you are using, you have automatic voice prompts for power on, power off, Bluetooth connected and low battery. Incoming calls can be controlled via the buttons and I tested this features and it works as it should.

The charge case is very neat and the ear buds lock straight into charging position via magnets when you insert them, I like the fact the base holds it’s own charge rather than having to be constantly connected to power before they will charge the ear buds which makes them truly portable and chargeable on the move without a power source.

My daughter was delighted with them and tells me the sound is ‘banging stereo’ which translates as very good very good and clear stereo, she says they are very comfortable, light weight and she hardly notices she is wearing them.

Good solid power bank that looks great and has some nice features, I purchased this for my wife as she is constantly on either one of her phones or ipad and wanted something that would give a power boost to any or all of these. This arrived in a brown sleeved box with the main unit being packed into a solid foam cut out to protect it, under this it had the charge lead, instruction manual, a draw string carry bag and a iphone/ipad adapted.

The power bank is a very nice design and very well finished with gold running round the edge against the black leather type effect outer case, I like the inbuilt micro USB cable which doubles as a phone holder once you pull it out, the addition of the draw string carry case is nice and it’s not just a cheap feeling bag thrown in it’s of very nice quality and useful for carrying round.

After I had opened it all up I put it on charge and read through the manual, very basic and simple manual as you would expect giving you all the information you need, once it was fully charged I gave it a test charging my Android phone from 5% and my daughter’s ipad mini from 2% simultaneously. I was very impressed with the charge time and it still had enough left to top up my iphone 6 from 33% to 100%.

My wife loves it and without wanting to sound sexist it has a very feminine or at least bling look to it rather than just being a basic block with slots, it is apparent a lot of thought and care has gone into design. I have added a short video and will also add some pictures showing unpacking and then after it was charged setting my Android phone on charge and fitting the apple adapter and putting my iphone 6 on charge, please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

AMINY True Wireless Stereo Earphones Review

Great quality with a crystal clear and solid stereo sound, these arrived in a little black custom box with silver Aminy logo embossed on the top, inside the two ear bud receivers were packed into a foam cut out with the addition of a red Chinese knot tassel, no idea why its included but it is a welcome added extra I have now put my garage key on. Under the ear bud receivers there are two ear hooks, a dual USB charging lead, some spare ear tips and the manual.

After getting it all opened up I put the ear hooks on charge, they both have little rubber plugged micro USB ports you connect to and charge both simultaneously, I did check and you can also charge them on a single micro USB lead if you wish or even lose the double lead. The first part of the manual is in English and I found it very easy to follow with diagrams linked to instructions, once you remove the rubber caps from the ear hooks they plug into the ear bud receivers and you are ready to get started.

Pairing up was very straight forward holding the phone icon button on both ear buds for around 10 seconds then waiting for them to pair with each other and opening the Bluetooth on your device looking for U-two R and pairing them, switching them off you just hold down the phone icon on both until they turn off.

The sound quality was really good and you have the ability to switch tracks via the ear bud controls, answer phone calls, play and pause tracks and even use Siri if you are using an Apple device which I tested and it works well. The quality of these ear buds is superb and the finishing is really nice I am more than pleased with them.

I have added a video and will also add some images showing opening them up, fitting the ear hooks to the ear buds, pairing them with my Android phone playing some music, switching tracks, pausing play, showing an incoming phone call which switches flawlessly between music and call not missing a beat on resume, I tested them with my iPhone 6 as I wanted to try out Siri which it connected to instantly on a double press on the phone icon. Please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

FUNANASUN Dual Lens Full HD 1080P 170 Degree Dash Cam Review

Great quality video capture with some really nice features, this is for my wife’s car for keeping an eye on the baby in the back seat, she is just coming up to two years old and has started trying to unlock her child safety seat so my wife asked if I could get her a camera that would also help her keep an eye on the baby while driving without turning round all the time or moving the rear view mirror, this seemed ideal.

It arrived in a white branded box with the camera packed to the side in a plastic pack and all the lenses having removable protectors, the main box contained the manual, cigarette charge lead charge lead adapter, screen mount and a USB charge/transfer lead. The manual is very clear and detailed leading you through a step by step guide of setting it up and using the features and functions, it’s fully in English so no mixed language on the pages or struggling to find the English instructions.

I put a 16gb micro sd card in it, the camera has loop recording so once it is full it overwrites the oldest footage, I find 16gb more than enough for my needs and as it has a G-sensor feature any sudden jolt the segment recorded is automatically protected from being overwritten and I tested this with a bit of hard braking and it worked as it should protecting the recording.

I found the recording quality very clear both day and night, the car internal camera works really well giving a good clear view of the back seat and as it is movable it does not matter where you locate the camera you can still swivel it round to get the desired view. You can easily select the view you get on the camera with the right arrow button switching from road view with a window in window, just front camera or just rear camera, this can be done while the camera is recording without interruption to the recording and no matter what view you select it will still record both front and rear if it’s selected in the menu.

The camera has a multitude of features and functions and with the wide angle lens it captures all of the road both sides including all the side roads and paths, I found the mount very stable once locked down and the camera also has an anti-shaking mode which should also avoid any shake in recording. The camera does have a port to add a GPS module so you are able to track location from the video although it does not recommend a compatible GPS unit and I am not sure if they are just standard or you need a specific one so have asked a question on this as I may want to add one in the future.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing unboxing, going through the menu, day time recording also showing some of the in car recording although I have cropped this slightly so you don't have to view my ugly mug and night time recording, please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

Very nice clever camera backed by a superb application, this arrived in a small white branded box with a flip top lid, with the instructions on the top camera and metal dome fitting in a plastic sleeve in one section of the cut out foam packing and the USB connection cable, plug and fitting screws, reset pin in the other section.

This is quite a unique design with the magnet in the base of the camera and the metal dome, you can fit this in any place you wish and get the exact angle, view you require by just sliding the camera round the dome no limitations, the connection plug is quite a neat design with a retractable 3rd pin and the micro USB cable that goes in the camera is angled so as to give a flush fitting.

The manual takes you through the installation of the Hi Cam application then onto connecting the camera, this is a very simple and straightforward process of pressing to add a camera then just scanning the QR code on the camera using the QR code scanner in the Hi Cam application and you are connected.

The camera is fully controllable from the Hi Cam application giving you the ability to change the cameras name, password, format the micro SD card which is not supplied but I would suggest fitting one although it will work without, you can set alarms with notifications, set it to detect motion, take snapshots, video and loads more.

I found the video quality very clear and the night vision is superb, I set it up in an area near my front door in total darkness and it gave very clear black and white night vision pictures and with the micro SD card fitted you can select and play back previous recordings or pictures, this is a very versatile camera and has a multitude of uses from security (my main use) to a baby monitor.

Maifang Full HD 1080P/720P In Car DVR Dash Cam Camera Review

Nice looking solid camera with high quality recording and a good display screen, this arrive in a large red, black and yellow stripped branded box with the camera packed in a foam cut out in a plastic sleeve and the additional leads and camera mounts in a separate black box, the cigarette lighter adapter has an additional USB port so it does not totally tie up the cigarette lighter and you can attach an additional USB device although I would have preferred the camera also connected to a USB port it is better than tying up the whole port.

After unpacking all the bits I had a read through the manual and then set it up indoors with a 3 pin plug to cigarette lighter adapter I have and just as a side note these are very handy devices if you have anything from the car you want to use indoors. The screen is a good size and nice and clear making it easy to navigate through the options using the menu select on the left of the camera and up and down buttons to cycle through the options then pressing the ‘OK’ button on the top right side of the camera to select, you can adjust and set a multitude of options depending on your needs.

I put a 8GB micro SD card in the camera although it will go to 32GB again it depends how much footage you wish to save, it has a loop recording feature again adjustable and this means it will overwrite the oldest footage once the memory card is full, it has a built in battery for emergency use such as park mode and setting up the menu while not connected, I often see people moan about the battery in dash cams not lasting very long, none of them do they need to be plugged in while in use the batteries are small to keep the size and weight down being for emergency use and park mode activation and being connected means the camera starts recording as soon as you start the car.

I was very pleased with the footage from this camera both day and night time driving, good and clear capturing the whole of both sides of the road including the paths and side roads it does not miss anything, you can place it virtually anywhere on the windscreen and it will still capture everything. The camera has a mini HDMI port in the top so you can plug it into a monitor or TV watching footage directly from the camera or even adjust the menu settings but you do need a lead as it’s not supplied.
