Vatos RC Remote Control Helicopter Review

Great fun helicopter, I have a few mini drones and love flying them but thought it was about time I tried a remote control helicopter and this looked ideal to dip my toe in the water of helicopter flying.

It arrived in a branded lift top box all tightly packed with the helicopter being held down with a plastic strap at the bottom to stop it moving about and getting damaged in the box, it comes with the controller, mini Philips head screw driver, a few spare rotor blades and the USB connection charge lead. The manual is in multi languages but it includes English and the controls are very simple to understand.

I found this quite different to fly to a drone, although it has the normal up and down (power) control with the left stick the right stick controls the tilt forwards and backwards and pan round so to fly it you are lifting off and using the right stick to tilt the helicopter forwards or backwards using the pan to direct the helicopter while applying power from the left stick for motion, not really as complicated as it sounds.

I really like this helicopter, it’s very sturdy as I have crashed many times now getting used to the controls without the slightest sign of damage, I like the idea of being able to charge it from the controller, a very nice feature and the charge rate seems really quick although it does mean having six AA batteries in the controller. It’s very stable and has a really nice hover with the lights being a nice touch and I am really improving the more I fly it now being able to land it in set locations rather than crash landing :)

I have added a video and will also add a few pictures showing unpacking the helicopter, giving it a test and then some flying around, please forgive the quality of the video, my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

What I liked

- Very nice to fly with a good stable hover
- Sturdy, I have crashed it many times without damage
- Comes with some spare parts should you break a rotor
- The charge from controller alternative is a very nice and useful feature
- Reasonable price
- Has lights on the helicopter controllable remotely
- Trim adjustment on the controller to fine tune the turning

What I Didn’t Like

- The manual can be a bit of a pain to navigate with the multiple languages although this is very picky and won’t affect my overall rating

Vatos RC (Upgraded) Remote Control 4x4 Monster Buggy Review

Good fun zippy little monster buggy that’s great fun to drive, having already purchased a larger truck for myself I took it over to the fields and let my 10 year old daughter have a go, it was a little too big for her to handle so I decided to buy her one of her own.

Unboxing this it was fastened down to the base with cable ties so you will need something to cut these to release it, it comes with a few spare fastening clips for the bonnet, the USB charge cable and manual, this monster buggy shows all the qualities of the bigger Vatos truck with the difference of the battery fitting into the side rather than the bottom but the quality and finishing is the same and also very nice with great attention to detail.

The truck is coated in a very thin plastic protective film you peel off and after giving the battery a full charge it was time to give it a test run, as with the larger truck make sure the first time you turn it on you first switch on the monster buggy then you switch on the remote control while holding down the bind button to link it, this is something you only have to do once and it then auto connects next time you use it.

The monster buggy is nice and nippy with a top speed of nearly 25mph and once you are used to the control very easy to drive, I ran it round on the grass and also on the road then set up a simple jump to test its jumping skills and mine, it performed really well and was huge fun, my daughter loves it and ran it until the battery needed charging then after a couple of hours charging was back out with it and has already mastered the controls.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unpacking, some driving, a camera fitted on the monster buggy and some ramp jumping at the end, please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded through Amazon’s optimisation system but hopefully not too much.

What I liked

- Huge fun to drive and once I got used to the speed easy to control
- Really fast with the top speed being nearly 25mph

- I like the simple charging system just plugging it into the USB adapter
- The working headlights very nice detail
- Very robust, I had several crashes and rolls as has my daughter and can’t even see a scratch on it

What I Didn’t Like

Vatos (Upgraded) Remote Control Racing Monster Truck Review

A very fast crazy monster truck that’s great fun, I am a total novice when it comes to driving remote control vehicles but wanted something with a bit of meat on the bone and loads of power,  this looked ideal as I wasn’t brave enough to get a kit and attempt the construction myself.

This arrived in a big branded box nice and neatly packed and protected, after unpacking everything I released the catch on the bottom of the truck (very simple to do) and took the battery out and put it on charge via the USB adapter that came with it and had a read through the manual.

The manual is mixed language on the same page so you have to find your relevant language although not really any sort of issue as there are only a few things you really need to know to be up and running, make sure the first time you turn it on you first switch on the truck then you switch on the remote control while holding down the bind button to link it, this is something you only have to do once and it then auto connects next time you use it.

After I had pealed the protective film off the truck and the battery was fully charged and connected back into the truck I decided to take it outside and give it a whirl. I have flown a few drones and am not bad at flying them but driving a remote controlled vehicle was going to be a challenge. I adjusted the steering rate knob and turning trim knob until I was happy that it was going to steer straight, turn correctly and not too fast.

The truck is very fast and I was trying my best not to crash as I got to grips with the remote control although I did have a few bumps it didn’t damage the truck at all so it seems extremely robust and it does come with a few spare parts I presume the ones most commonly damaged or lost. It was really great fun to drive and nothing seems to stop it running over everything in its path, I never had anything like this as a child and I am making up for it now, I do plan to let my daughter learn to drive it but I am going to take her over to the big field near us so there isn’t anything to smash into.
