X-DNENG 15000mAh Waterproof Solar Power Bank Review

Great product, works exactly as it should, I wanted a solar powered power bank for my mother-in-law, my wife is Filipina and her parents still live in the provinces in the Philippines and electricity can be somewhat unstable often getting power cuts that last for days so this is an ideal gift for her to charge her phone and with the solar recharge also top it up easily.

It arrived in a brown flip lid box with a carabiner, micro USB charging lead and a manual. I put the power bank on charge and had a read through the manual which is simple and basic with clear instructions and numbered diagrams linked to descriptions of what they are and uses, all you really need to know.

Once the power bank had fully charged I wanted to test its capacity and off a single charge managed to recharge my iphone 6 from 4% to 100%, my daughters ipad mini from 9% to 100%, my Android phone from 18% to 100% and a Fire tablet from 0% to 100%, the charge rate seemed reasonably quick and I still had one blue light indicator on and could have probably drained the remaining and got a bit more.

I put it on my balcony to test the solar recharge, I left it there for about 6 hours and it was a reasonably sunny day one of the few we have had this summer and it charged 25% which may not sound a lot but it is enough to give a full charge to an iphone 6 so if you are outdoors or have access to direct sunlight you can constantly be topping it up and ideal for my mother-in-laws use.

I have added a short video and will also add some pictures showing unboxing, testing the flashlight which worked perfectly and the modes worked as described in the manual, I then linked up a couple of devices and will apologise for my fat fingers fiddling to get the connectors in, finally I just ran a flashlight over the panel to show the green indicator light coming on instantly as it starts to solar charge. Please note my original video is of high quality but the video quality often degrades considerable when uploaded but hopefully not too much.

What I liked
*************
- The design is very nice
- Addition of a flashlight which works very well and also a practical addition if you are suffering a power cut
- Waterproof and shock proof again nice features if you are using outdoors
- It’s a very solid unit very well finished and extremely robust
- Two USB charging ports allowing you to dual charge
- I thought the price very reasonable (£26.99 at the time of ordering) considering a non-solar power back with far less features isn’t much cheaper
- It works very well

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- Nothing I could find, the solar recharge is slow but it works even in the UK weather and whatever you get from the sun helps the environment.

Adjustable Solar Sensor Light

This is a very simple and effective adjustable solar sensor light, I needed a simple but effective security light as my wife often arrives home from work late at night due to her shift patterns and the area she parks her car has almost no lighting.

The main problems I had to overcome was the fact there was no practical way of running power to the place I intended to fit it, I didn’t want to be changing batteries or taking it down to charge on a regular basis so after a lot of research I decided on this.

It came in a small brown box with simple and easy to follow instructions and all the bits needed to fit it in place so after I gave it a full charge it was time to fit it in place, this was a very simple process of screw fitting the holding unit to the fence and once done mounting the light, adjusting it to the desired angle with the various adjustments and locking it in place with the hand tighten locking bolts. I was surprised and very pleased the unit is very light so fitted very well to the fence panel I wanted without any issues at all.

I have added a short video which shows it in use, the light spread is ideal for what I wanted and the sensor has a very good pickup range lighting the intended area as you approach.

  • Three mode switch:off, normal, body motion+dimming , and it has the built-in PIR sensor for a detection range20-33 feets.
  • Two mode charges:solar charge 10 hours and the cable charge 8 hours for full power.
  • Two built-in battery:powered by two 18650 battery with a capacity of 4400mAh, and it has four super bright lights, so that it can works on 8 hours for normal use time.
  • Adjustable:The lamp can swivel 90 degree and the mount can swivel 350 degree so that they can be positioned however you need them.
  • Easy installation and waterproof:IP65Waterproof, monitoring design, install easily, Solar powered no extra battery or electricity wire needed.

What I liked
*************
- Very easy to fit
- Solar charging so no messing with cables or removing to charge
- Lightweight and compact unit
- Gives a good spread of light
- Very reasonable price
- Various settings depending on your needs

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I couldn’t find anything not to like with this, it does the intended job perfectly

Solar Powered waterproof LED Security Lights

I've a fair number of these dotted about the garden. All from different manufacturers with different shapes and sizes and varying functions.
I live in a quiet village, with no streetlights. The downside to this, is, at night, it's very very dark. So having lights that cost me nothing to run are invaluable.

I was surprised at how small these are, not unpleasantly however as some of the bigger lights are a little bit conspicuous and I much prefer something more subtle.
Out of the box, they're switched to "off" and you need to pop the plastic lens cover to get to the on switch.
You also need to fit them with the lens cover off as the screw holes are in the plastic frame, rather than a lug on the outside.
Be careful though, as the holes are quite close to the circuit board controlling the light.
Once fitted, they work well. Don't expect floodlight level illumination, these provide more of a radial glow than a direct spot light.
Because of their compact size, I placed them quite close together and was able to see the ground from their illumination.

Well worth a buy if you're looking for a discrete and cheap way of illuminating a dark corner.

24 LED solar motion sensitive lights

These are deceptively good.

I left them in the garden for two days to give them a charge, then fitted them. I didn’t think, that with a semi opaque lens cover they’d be very bright.

I was wrong.
Easy to fit, however as a tip, once fitted I’d recommend bending them up slightly, as if you fit them to a flat wall or fence, there’s a possibility that the solar panel will hold water as it’s slightly recessed. Bending them up creates an angle for the water to run off.
These work by proximity. Wander within 8 or 9 feet of them and they come on.
Very bright, I was pleasantly surprised and I’ve attached a couple of photo’s to show their effectiveness.
