AOOE Portable Waterproof Shower Speaker Review

Ideal little waterproof speaker for the shower, I wanted a small waterproof Bluetooth speaker for the bathroom shower exclusively that wasn’t going to cost me silly money but would still deliver a good sound and after a lot of searching this looked ideal.

It arrived in a branded blue and white box with the speaker, a micro USB charge lead and a simple but clear and easy set of usage instructions. After giving it a full charge I held the power button until it flashed then went to the Bluetooth on my Android phone and Q50 was showing up then it was a simple case of selecting that and it was connected, the volume is more than adequate for the bathroom and nice and clear even at the highest setting.

It’s been given a good test now in the shower and it gets a good soaking every time without any issues, the suction cup works very well being able to position it any place I want on the tiles and I always take it down after use as I am not sure it would stay in place permanently, the battery is good and charging it only takes a couple of hours for a full charge with the micro USB connection being on the bottom while it is hanging and a good solid rubber seal so no chance of any water getting in.

I tested the phone feature which works well but not something I will use as if I am in the shower they can wait :) skipping tracks works well with good solid buttons and a good range so I can leave my phone in the other room and it still keeps a good solid connection. Overall a good value solid speaker and certainly ideal for a bathroom or shower, it has a nice finish to it and with the rubber sucker can stick to a variety of surfaces, the sound is very crisp and clear even at highest volume although not the loudest ideal for a small room.

Warlock® Z Vape Box 233W Huge Vapour E Cigarette Mod Box Review

Good solid powerful modbox for the experienced user, I have been vaping now since the early beginning and have progressed from the first simple pen type to now having a lot of mod boxes and atomisers, I always justify getting a new modbox first of all by the massive amount of money I am not spending on cigarettes anymore and I have been mixing my own juice for over 5 years now and save a lot on that so compared to smoking it’s a cheap purchase. I wanted a heavy duty modbox for daily use that would take two batteries and I purchased a couple of 18650 3.7V 3500mAh at the same time.

It arrived in a black sleeved and branded lift top box opening up to the Warlock Z Vape being on top in a foam cut out and the micro USB charger lead and instructions under this, after unboxing it all I fitted the batteries and put the modbox on charge, I like the fact the micro USB charge connection is on the front of the modbox rather than on the bottom as with quite a lot which means you have to lie them down on their side to charge and if you have a slight leak in your tank it makes a mess, the modbox does not allow charge through vaping meaning you can’t vape and charge at the same time but not a big deal for me as I have other modboxes.

I had a good read through the manual and most of the settings are fairly standard to modboxes such as 5 clicks to turn it on and off and 3 clicks to cycle through the menu, it has a feature to flip the screen and lock the modbox, the feel of it is very nice with the cowhide material and I found the screen nice and clear with the menu very easy to navigate and solid buttons, I liked that you can slightly adjust with a short press on the plus or minus or cycle quickly by holding either button.

I gave it a good test with several of my atomisers and a RDA tank something I don’t use very often and think my next purchase should be a good RDA tank as I want to start using them more but need to research before I purchase as the one I have I don’t really get on with. The modbox delivers a good steady and consistent power stream and found it performed really well on all the atomisers I tried, the batteries (not supplied) lasted around two days of vaping but that’s for me and not really a guide as everyone vapes differently.

Overall a very nice solid heavy duty modbox for the experienced user, I haven’t detailed the various settings as this is not a modbox for someone new to vaping it’s the next step for anyone vaping wanting to move to the next level so you will know what they want and are looking for features wise. NAVISKAUTO IPS Screen HD 15.6 Inch Portable DVD Player Review

Simple to use with a good clear sharp display, I wanted a DVD player for my children for their collection of films but also wanted something portable that could be taken on trips to keep them entertained on the journey, play a multitude of media types through disk, USB and SD card and this fitted perfectly.

It arrived in a Naviskauto branded blue box well protected packed into inflated plastic padding with a box on the top containing the leads and remote control, after unpacking it I set it on charge and had a good read through the manual which I found to be very easy to follow giving good clear instructions backed up with pictures and illustrations with links to functions and features giving a good visual of what you should be seeing or doing.

Once it had charged I put the batteries in the remote control and tested out all the features working as they should, I tested it with a USB stick containing some footage from my action camera which worked perfectly, I was really pleased with the sharp and crisp picture and the swivel works really well being able to rotate and tip the screen into any desired angle, I then tested a SD card with some TV shows again working perfectly with no issues such as stuttering or delay what so ever, finally I tested a DVD film which worked perfectly. I have added a video showing the different media I tested and will also add some pictures

Overall I found this to be exactly what I wanted, the children love it and we have taken it in the car on a recent trip we made and it kept them nice and quiet watching a film, it comes with a cigarette adapter for the car should you need it but I did find the four hour battery claim to be just about spot on running for just short of 4 hours before the battery gave up. The display is crystal clear and I found it took no time at all from inserting the media to playing it, the remote control works well and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and how loud it would go without any distortion.

ICOCO RC Rolling Remote Control Cartoon Stunt Car Review

Good fun crazy car, my youngest daughter received some money for Christmas from her uncle with instructions to buy her something she wanted, my youngest daughter suffers from toy envy as her older sister has a remote controlled truck she plays with a lot but it’s really a bit too complicated for her younger sister as she’s only two so decided to have a look round for a toy she control and have fun with and this looked ideal.

It arrived in a nice branded box with a plastic display panel and was fairly easy to open up, the controller and truck being held and secured by plastic hand turn screws, after unpacking it I fitted two AA batteries in the controller with the cover being held in place by a small Philips head screw you need to remove and replace. The main car is ready fitted with rechargeable batteries that charge via a supplied USB lead connection, one of the main reasons I went for this car as it saves a lot of messing about hunting for batteries and changing them when they run out, I put the car on charge and after it was fully charged it was time to give it a test.

The control is very simple with the left being backwards and forwards and the right controlling the spinning front section turning left or right, it has a button on the front to start the music and buttons on each side below the movement paddles which you can use to put it into a demo/auto stunt mode going through a variety of modes, my daughter loves it and has been bouncing it round the floor all over the place, it’s extremely robust and has now been battered round the floor for many hours bumping into almost everything there isn’t a mark on it.

WIMIUS 4K Action Camera - Waterproof Sports Cam Review

Due to someone of low morals stealing my action camera along with my cycle helmet just before Christmas I needed a new one and as I was being forced to buy another I wanted to get one a little bit smaller than the one that was taken as I wear it on the top of my cycle helmet so the smaller the better, this looked ideal plus I could get it the very next day on prime delivery.

It arrived in a Wimius branded zip sided case and on opening it all the camera fittings were in plastic bags with the manual, carry bag and some fittings being behind the webbing at the top and the camera, batteries and fittings being in the bottom, the bottom wasn’t a great fit and more of a ridged foam than my previous one. After unpacking I put the battery in the camera along with a micro USB card and put it on charge, I then had a read through the manual and installed the Wimius action cam app to my Android phone using the QR code on the back of the manual.

The camera has a mini HDMI socket something I find very handy as I have an adapter which only cost a couple of pounds that allows me to play directly to my PC monitor or TV displaying exactly what you see on the camera screen including the menu. I gave the camera a good test over the Christmas period along with recording some of my cycling footage I also tested the slow motion feature which worked very well and tested the waterproof case of the camera which worked perfectly. The Wimius action cam app works well and you can adjust many of the camera settings remotely using it along with the recording and picture taking ability.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unpacking, fitting the battery and micro USB card then showing some footage taken with the camera and testing the waterproof case, please note the footage is of crystal clear quality but due the size restraints and Amazons own video optimisation it will have degraded considerably so it is not an indication of the camera footage quality just usage.

Ulefone MIX Unlocked 4G 5.5" Smartphone with Android 7.0 Review

Really nice design sleek and powerful phone, after asking what my eldest son wanted for Christmas he replied ‘a new iphone I have broken mine’, after 30 minutes of me ranting about how extortionately overpriced iphones are, how restrictive they are not even allowing you to set the mp3’s you own as ringtones and so much more I talked him round to having an Android phone and agreed to get him one for Christmas.

After having a good look round and showing him the features we agreed the Ulefone MIX was ideal, good price and he really liked the idea of dual cameras on the back, not something that’s important to me but he seems to live his life through pictures on social media so the camera is a priority feature for him.

It arrived in a lift top white Ulefone branded box which opened up to the phone already in a rubber protective back case on the top with the sim release pin, instructions, screen protector, charge lead and Ulefone branded ring stand holder underneath, it also came with a UK three pin plug USB charge socket separate. After giving it a full charge I went through setting it up with my son.

The manual is clear and takes you through the basics of the phone and getting it up and running, the setup is very straight forward taking you through step by step allowing you to skip some bits and add them later such as the finger print recognition all being very smooth and fast taking no time to have it up and running, my son added his finger prints again very simple to do and with the ability to add more than one he added both his thumbs so it could be opened when you are holding it in either hand.

The cameras are really impressive with the mix sports dual cameras on the back recording superb video and crystal clear photos and the front camera even with my son’s ugly mug taking some great shots, the operating system is Android 7.0 Nougat so nice and quick, I liked the fact the phone didn’t come packed with loads of pointless apps you may never use and after setting up a Google account for him we went onto the play store and downloaded a few of the apps he used to use on his iphone, the video quality is very impressive with vivid colours and sharp details, the sound is great and crystal clear even at full volume no distortion.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, fitting the sim and a micro SD card for extra storage, then running through the setup showing the finger print recognition setup, testing the camera and video, running through the menu system and showing a bit of live video from YouTube and screen capturing some shots. We did test the duel sim option was working with my sim and it switches flawlessly between sims but at the moment my son wants to put all his music on the micro SD card so stuck with that.

TESLACIGS® Invader 2/3 Huge Vapor Electronic Modbox Review

Very practical powerful solid modbox for the experienced user, I have been vaping now around seven years from the early days of the very small pens as it progressed with decent sized mod boxes and top filling tanks moving onto mixing my own juice around 4 years ago. I wanted a good solid modbox for my desktop I wouldn’t be charging three times a day and with this taking up to three 18650 batteries it looked ideal.

It arrived in a Teslacig branded lift top box with the instructions on the top and the main modbox on the top secured in a foam cutout and under this it had the back plate to adjust for two battery usage, this modbox does not come with a tank or additional charging leads as it is not a starter kit or introduction modbox, it’s for the experienced user who wants a good powerful supply for their existing tanks.

After unpacking it was time to give it a test, I had already charged three 18650 batteries ready, the back plates have a slide and lock in system which locks in nice and tight with no chance of coming off, the whole build quality is very nice and simple and it does not come with a LED screen or charge ports, the adjustment is made via a turn dial on the front of the box so there is no additional battery drain powering a display and charging via a micro USB connection for three batteries isn’t practical due to the fact just charging one battery takes around six hours via USB.

I gave this a good test with one of my RDA tanks and once I had the power set to my liking it gave a superb vape, I also tested it with several of my other tanks including my Aspire Cleito one of my favourites of larger liquid capacity I purchased before the pointless restrictions introduced to liquid capacity maximums on vape tanks and found it also gave a superb vape, I charge my batteries in an external charger and found a full charge on three batteries lasted just over three days for me but not really a guide as this will vary depending on user and usage.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing, fitting with two batteries and using the extended back plate for the three battery usage then going on to give it a test with an RDA tank and an  Aspire Cleito both giving a good solid consistent vape experience.

- For myself it lasts three days on a single charge which is ideal for my usage
- With three 18650 batteries it has a good weight to it and fits nicely in my hand, not a pocket modbox but that is not its intended use
- Nice and simple design with a clever locking system to draw power from a third battery

What I Didn’t Like

- The only negative I can find is that it is not for a new or inexperienced user but that is not its target market and it does not pretend to be

OVERBOX Freeview Satellite Receiver Full 1080P Review

Great little feature packed Freeview box with so much more, I wanted a Freeview box for the bedroom but also wanted something I could customise heavily so as to have it set up exactly as I wanted and after having a good look around this seemed ideal and within my budget.

It arrived in an OVERBOX branded flip top box with the main box in a white protective sleeve and under a cardboard separator it had the remote control, HDMI cable, the power lead and the manual. The manual is very detailed running through the setup alongside trouble shooting suggestion should you run into problems, there are linked diagrams on all pages giving you a good indication of exactly what you should be seeing, I found it very helpful and good to return to while setting up and testing different features and settings.

I linked up a hardwire network connection but I also tested the WiFi which worked perfectly, once I selected my dish it scanned and found all the channels without any issue, the box has a multitude of features such as IPTV very simple to set up and I also inserted a 64gig USB stick I have which allowed me to test the recording features which worked flawlessly a nice feature that allows it to be used as a PVR (personal video recorder) ideal for capturing a few shows to watch from live TV.

The box itself is very compact and has HDMI, Scart, USB and Ethernet socket on the back giving numerous means of connection, the remote control works well and is clear and fully referenced in the manual, I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing the unboxing and some footage while using it and setting it up going through the various features and settings.

- Good clear detailed user’s manual all in English along with pictures for reference

Overall this is a very nice Freeview box with so much more, the price is very reasonable and it’s workable for a novice user just wanting to watch a bit of Freeview TV right up to someone who wants to set it up to watch from any number of different sources and record live TV, I am very pleased with it and would certainly recommend it.
