LYL Remote Control 4wd Offroad Car Review

A zippy RC car packed with power and fun, I got this for my nephews 9th birthday as he asked me if I could get him a remote controlled car he could take with him to his mates and they could race so this looked ideal being very robust, I said I would set it all up for him, charge it and make sure everything was working but he saw through that and said if you want to play that’s ok you can show me how it works :)

This arrived in a branded box nice and neatly packed and protected with the car being held down with plastic ties you have to cut to release the car, after unpacking everything I released the catch on the bottom of the car (very simple to do) and took the battery out and put it on charge with the USB adapter that came with it, there are four holding pins on top of the car once removed the shell of the truck can be removed, you don’t need to do this to connect the battery but it makes it a lot easier to do.

The manual is very clear and detailed also mixed language on the same page so you have to find your relevant language although not really any sort of issue as there are only a few things you really need to know to be up and running, make sure the first time you turn it on you first switch on the car then you switch on the remote control while holding down the ‘bind’ button to pair it, this is something you only have to do once and it then auto connects next time you use it.

There is a very thin protective film over the body of the car you peel off although you don’t have to remove this and I would suggest leaving it on until you have got used to driving it, when the battery was fully charged and connected back into the car and my Nephew arrived we took it outside and give it a whirl, it had been snowing so an ideal test for it to see how it performed.

The car is very fast up to 25mph and very responsive whizzing round and very easy to control and steer with the wheel system on the remote control, the build quality of the car looks extremely good and even though my Nephew and myself had a multitude or bumps and rolls there wasn’t even a scratch on it and the fine adjustment on the controller allows you to set it up perfectly.

I have added a video and will also add some pictures showing unpacking the car and some driving, spinning and sliding in the snow and across the car park, although I am a novice at driving RC vehicles and this was my Nephews first time it only took a little bit of practice to have it running round in every direction at high speed fully controlled.

What I liked
*************
- 50M remote control, we tested this and it was almost spot on 50 meters before it stopped responding
- Huge fun to drive and easy to control with the wheel system on the remote control
- Really fast up to 25mph
- The body is easy to remove with four holding clips and the build is high quality
- It looks great, the paintwork is fantastically clear and detailed
- I like the simple charging system just plugging it into the USB adapter
- The working headlights are a nice touch
- Very robust, we had several crashes and rolls and can’t even see a scratch on it

What I Didn’t Like
********************
- I would have liked to see a full English section in the manual rather than mixed languages on the same page, not a big deal and more of a suggestion than a negative.

Summary
**********
Overall a great RC car that’s fast, fun and very robust, my Nephew loves it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask I will do my best to answer.
