Fissler original-profi collection Wok With Lid Review

Very high quality effective wok, this arrived Fissler branded lift top box very well packed and protected, as soon as you open it up I could clearly see and feel the high quality. I gave it a good look over to check for any faults or defects but could not find any and all the finishing looked flawless.

I love Asian food and as my wife is Filipina it makes up a large part of our families meals, after giving the wok a good wash out I tried it with a simple stir fried chicken noodle dish and it really works well, the lid is perfect for steaming, the handles say cool enough to manipulate the wok or remove it from the stove without the need for any oven gloves or cloth, I found it cooked well and gave a good even heat to everything.

The cleaning is very straight forward, I filled it with water after use just to leave it to soak and after a couple of wipes round with a soft cleaning pad it was clean again. My wife absolutely loves this wok and has since cooked a variety of Filipino and Asian dishes all turning out great.

Overall this really is a high quality wok, solid and well made, it has a half pan metal grid which works great when cooking to stand utensils and the lid can be replaced even when this is in place, it gives great results evenly distrusting the heat through the wok, it can be easily moved or manipulated with the handles, the cleaning is really simple, my wife loves it and I can’t fault it so have given it top marks.

Tower T838001C Rectangular Copper Sensor Bin Review

The tower bin arrived in a large branded box packed securely with cut out polystyrene top and bottom with the lid inside also held and protected top and bottom with custom cut out polystyrene. After I unpacked it I had a read through the included instruction manual, the instructions are fairly straight forward and the manual contains instructive diagrams along with a section in the back on care, useful tips and warnings.

Fitting the bag in the bin is simple enough and it holds very well and I found it just as easy to release when I emptied it, the lid takes four AA batteries (not included) and they fit in a clip release compartment on the underside of the lid which seems very secure so it won’t come loose. The LED sensor on the lid works well and has a pickup range of around five inches so only gets tripped accidentally if you get very close to it, the lid closes automatically seven seconds after opening which gives plenty of time to put rubbish in.

I though the lid mechanism seemed a bit flimsy along with the lid only being 2.5mm thick I thought it might be easy to accidentally damage, the look of the bin is very nice and with a 75 LT capacity it certainly holds a lot. The main body of the bin is not water tight so should you get liquid leakage from a bag within the bin it may leak that liquid onto the floor and when you wash it out you need to be aware of this, the lid can only be cleaned with a damp cleaning cloth.

Overall the bin looks great, the LED sensor opening and closing works very well although I have reservations on if this would withstand a hard knock as the lid is very thin and mechanism seems a bit flimsy, The capacity is good and the holding system for the bad works well, I like the idea of the bin freshener compartment in the bottom of the lid although I think they should have including one in then package to try it.

Bobolyn Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser Review

Nice stylish design, the aroma oil diffuser arrived in a nice Bobolyn branded lift top box, the diffuser and cover were packed very tightly and securely with the power lead and measuring jug slotted into the bottom of the box, the instructions are good, clear and easy to follow.

Good budget mouse ideal for a laptop or notebook, the Leadsail mouse arrived in a simple branded box along with a USB to micro USB charging lead and instructions, the instructions are good and clear going through the functions and features along with labelled diagrams.

After opening it up I gave it a quick test on my notebook, the USB dongle is held in with a magnet which although makes no real difference I thought it was quite a neat design feature. The mouse is straight forward plug and play no messing about installing drivers or even having to restart the computer, after I had tested it to be working I put it on charge and had a read through the manual before I gave it a full test.

The silent click feature works perfectly and you can’t hear any clicking sound without holding it right up to your ear, the scroll wheel has a good resistance not too loose but also not too tight so makes scrolling with it simple. The DPI changing works well and is the first time I have seen this method of changing the DPI with a button on the mouse which is normally changed and set via software but I liked it.

Overall this I think this is an nice mouse to use on a notebook, laptop or even desktop PC if you are not into serious gaming, its silent feature works perfectly so if clicking is something that bothers you this is ideal, DPI settings are altered via a button on the mouse avoiding the need to install any software and the mouse is instantly recognised on connection. I can’t find any faults with this so give it top marks.

Wahl Lithium Power Clipper Review

Good solid heavyweight clippers, they arrived in a branded Wahl box with a multitude of comb attachments, charging lead, oil, scissors, instructions, comb and protection sheet inside a soft material Wahl branded zip close case.

After opening everything up I put the clippers on charge and had a read through the instructions, they are basic covering operation, troubleshooting, precautions, care and cleaning, attachments, the taper lever and charging requirements. I have had a set of wired Wahl clippers for over 25 years now and they still get used on a regular basis having given at least 100 haircuts along with touch ups and trims never letting me down although a lot of the attachments have gone missing over the years they are still working perfectly.

The clippers are heavy compared to something like an electric razor but I personally don’t see this as an issue as they will carry a lot of the weight in the battery needed and need to be good and solid allowing a tight grip while cutting hair as opposed to an electric shaver and the lightweight less precise task of shaving. I wasn’t keen on the push button power operation and would much prefer a switch on the side, the combs are soft plastic as some have mentioned but are no different from the ones I had with my old set and I never had any issues with them.

I managed to talk my friend into letting me give his lad a haircut with them and found they worked well certainly on a par with my old ones and the lack of a power cord getting in the way made the job a lot easier with him being pleased with the result, I used them for a trim on my own head but as I normally have a shaved head they were just removing stubble but they did trim my moustache well.

Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker Ii - Special Edition Review

Crisp clear solid sound, this arrived in a bose branded box with the USB-C to USB charge lead, a large multi lingual safety instructions booklet along with a very basic user guide in the top section, the guide is adequate to set the speaker up and play music but does not give any details on features or functions. You can get a very comprehensive manual from the bose website linked on the back of the safety instructions manual and I would suggest this should be the first thing you do.

The top section lifted off to reveal the speaker with a plastic sleeve round it packed into a moulded insert, all very well packed and protected, I put the speaker on charge and went to their website to get the manual and have a good read through. I linked the speaker up to my Android phone all very straight forward and once connected was able to play music; I have a few non brand Bluetooth speakers and the difference with this is instant once you unpack it, the speaker is very heavy for its small size, the finishing and quality is flawless and you can instantly tell the difference in sound quality with a very solid and crisp with a deep base sound.

I tested out the voice assistant which worked a lot better than I expected being able to hear clearly and be heard when talking on the phone also using Google assistant and Siri on my iphone all working flawlessly, the volume is enough to fill a room but if you are looking for something to blast the house down then it won’t do that.

Umi. Essentials Digital Alarm Clock Review

A simple basic alarm clock, this arrived in a plain brown box protected in a bubble wrap sleeve along with the instructions, my daughter normally uses her phone as an alarm in the mornings to get up for school but more than a few times she has forgotten to put it on charge or left it in her coat so I thought this would be an ideal replacement.

The instructions are good clear print and are easy enough to follow so as you understand and are able to set up the clock along with alarm either setting it to a 12 or 24 hour display, enable or disable the snooze function, dim the display or even stop the flashing of the dots on the display.

I set it up to give it a full test, it takes four AA batteries (not supplied) which are easy enough to fit with a slide off cover, the setting of the time and alarm are also very simple and you can move the digit rapidly by holding down the button or slowly with single presses along with enabling or disabling the snooze function.

The snooze function works well repeating up to three times every seven minutes, the alarm has an increasing volume around every twenty seconds but the alarm stops automatically after one minute if not turned off or set to snooze which may be an issue for a very heavy sleeper.

My daughter really likes the clock and the alarm is loud enough to wake her up without problem, the display is good and clear and has a switch on the back to lower the brightness although it is only a minimal adjustment and would have been better with an adjustment wheel in my opinion.

Overall this is a very simple battery operated alarm clock that is easy to set up, has a good clear display, ideal for waking you in the mornings, I would have liked to see a more adjustable option for dimming the display and as the alarm only lasts for one minute increasing in volume then shuts off even if not stopped I would not think it suitable for a very heavy sleeper.

Motorola Focus 89 Wireless Indoor Camera Review

This arrived in a branded Motorola box with the camera and micro USB power cable packed securely into foam, included in the box there is a quick start guide, this is adequate to get started but I was a little disappointed not to get a glossy manual listing and describing all details and adjustments in detail.

After unpacking and plugging the camera in I went through the setup, all very simple with prompts and onscreen help tutorials along the way, it gives the option of signing up for a trial of free cloud storage which is not an option I will be taking up, I put a 32gig micro SD card in the camera which records movement and sound, also depending on your settings will give you an alert on your mobile device regardless of your location as long as it is connected online overwriting old footage when full so as never to run out of space, this will also allow you to record footage or images to your mobile device. I didn’t like the regular screen popup offering the free trial which would then turn into a regular subscription after I had already declined and would have appreciated an option to disable this message.

The camera recording quality is superb and very simple to adjust and move the camera to different angles remotely along with pinch to zoom; the sound quality is adequate both ways. Night vision and low light recording is very clear and quite impressive. The camera has a multitude of settings easily navigated along with help and assistance within the Hubble application to assist with setting these.

The alert system works very well and gives you the option to go straight to a live feed of the camera to check out what’s going on, I had to search for the Hubble application on the app store as the QR code supplied on the quick start guide was too small to scan and once installed you have to register as you would expect for security reasons.

Overall I found the camera quality very good, the Hubble application is very polished giving a multitude of different options and settings, the ‘quick start’ guide supplied really should have been much better quality and been an addition to a full manual rather than a stand alone in my opinion, I found the popup free trial a bit intrusive once I had refused it but the bottom line for me is this is a very good security camera with high quality recording backed up with a very easy to navigate application for your mobile device and instant notification.
