LESHP Video Home Wireless NVR Security Camera System

First off I will say I am a total novice when it comes to security systems so this is my introduction. Before this purchase my main worry was the complexity of setting it all up but decided it was time I got a camera system installed.

I had done a bit of research and decided on the features I wanted/needed and what was realistic falling within my budget, I wanted four cameras to cover all the angles of my house, I wanted something that would time stamp and date the video, I wanted something with a simple menu I could link to my TV or computer screen, I wanted the cameras to be wireless, I wanted a system that had an app for my phone so I could monitor the cameras at any time easily and of course the best quality I could get.

It arrived in a small box which contained the four cameras and main unit along with the power leads, a mouse, a network cable, quick setup and comprehensive manual along with a mini disk which contained far more in depth manuals on setup and some helpful videos walking you through it all.

After reading the manuals and watching the videos it was time to get it set up, I linked the box to my television via a HDMI lead (not supplied) and four panels popped up on the screen waiting to connect, I was really surprised how simple it was and each camera instantly recognised as soon as I plugged it in and the video feed popped up on the screen, (this was the bit I was most worried about as I have had experience of things not being recognised and connecting with networking) I followed this process with all four cameras to make sure they were all working before I fitted them and once I had confirmed them all working I fitted them in place with the screws and plugs provided. I have plug sockets very close to all the points I fitted the cameras but if you haven’t you would need to use some sort of extension lead.

I installed the app on my iPhone 6 simply by scanning the QR code and grabbing it from the apple store and after a simple setup I was really impressed with how well it works and have uploaded some screen shots.

I have added a short video of the cameras in use but please be aware that when uploaded to amazon video quality can degrade due to amazons conversion/compression so it is really showing them in use rather than the feed quality which was far better before I had to optimise it down to a size I could upload.

Hikeren DC 12-Volt 106W Wet & Dry Car Vacuum

Cracking little vacuum with plenty of power, with two young children I needed something to keep the car clean as it gets messy with all sorts from their feet and crumbs etc from whatever they are eating in the car as I gave up a long time ago trying to stop them eating in the car and from my side while they are eating they are not constantly asking me ‘are we there yet?’

With the good reviews and that fact the Hikeren car vacuum will also pick up liquids I decided this was the one for me, it arrived all packed in its own neat little box and after checking the contents and reading the instructions I decided to give it a blast, I did try it in the car which worked great but as it wasn’t very easy to video and lack of light I decided to give it a test indoors with a three pin to car adaptor indoor plug I had. I used some coffee, pink salt, hoop breakfast cereal and some water, I have uploaded the video but please be aware with Amazon’s conversion you often lose quality so hopefully it all shows well.

I found the power very good and it quickly picked up everything I threw at it, I did find with liquid I needed to put the small attachment on to get all the little drops up but was very pleased with the results, I found the cord a good length and it was plenty long enough to get right round the car and to the boot without running out of flex. The emptying and cleaning was very simple and the fact you could just wash the filter and detachable parts is great.

SnuggBugg 6 Pack of Premium child and toddler safety locks

My youngest daughter is now 18 months old and until the last few days has not taken much interest in going into cupboards and draws unfortunately this suddenly changed. Very nice extension lead with six power points and 2 USB ports it exactly fits my needs, this arrived in a nice custom box and the unit was packed in a white plastic bag for protection. The unit has a good weight to it and finishing is of high quality. I got this to use as a bank at my computer desk as I am constantly removing the lamp to put the printer in and visa versa, I also needed a couple of USB charger ports for my iPhone and GoPro camera.

GoPro Accessoires Pack

I got this to go with my GoPro Hero 5 sessions, the head mount fits well and is easily adjustable, it felt a bit like wearing a baseball cap, I shot some video of something I was working on and it works really well leaving me both hands free rather than holding the camera in one hand as I have been doing. I tried the chest mount which also fitted nicely with good and easy adjustment, the selfie monopod does a good job although this is more something my daughters or wife would use. The yellow hand grip floating mount seems good although I haven’t had a chance to try it in water.

I have taken some pictures with my GoPro Hero 5 sessions attached and hopefully they will all upload and give a good idea if it in use.

A budget dash cam that has it all, I purchased this for my wife to use in her car and was a little bit dubious as to how it would perform being as it was only £29.99 at the time of my purchase on offer. It came in a plain brown box but was well protected with protective film over the front and back glass and it came with an 8GB micro SD card which I had not even noticed when ordering so a nice added bonus, it also has two USB charger leads, one for indoors and one you fit in the car for charging, a USB micro SD card reader and fitting attachments for securing the power cable, I only mention these as they are omitted from the description and have taken some snaps which hopefully upload fine so you can see the full package.

 

The menu system has a multitude of options and settings that are easy to navigate and select, the manual is very clear and comprehensive also printed in clear readable text with pictures and all in English only. I have recorded some footage of both day and night driving also in the rain but please be aware due to amazon’s compression when uploading videos you do lose quite a lot of quality. The quality is very good and having a widescreen option means you can attach It just about any place on the screen you want and still capture the whole road including the paths and side roads.

Something you should be aware of is this needs to be powered all the time and the inbuilt battery has a limited operating time and is just there for viewing when not plugged in and emergencies, it fits easily to the screen and has a good adjustment range, I won’t just repeat all the features they are all listed but having tested all the different settings now I can confirm this dash cam works very well.

GoolRC 515V 0.3MP Camera Drone

Great fun easy to control drone, I am a real novice when it comes to drones and I am taking baby steps before I hopefully progress onto something bigger and this really is a superb little drone to help take me there. It comes in a nice presentation box with four spare propellers and four spare propeller guards although I have yet to break or lose any, charging is fairly simple with the lead provided just unclip the battery compartment and plug the USB lead to the connection inside. It came with a 4GB micro USB TF card inserted in the card reader which just slots in under the drone, the controller takes four AAA batteries (not supplied).

The manual is fairly straight forward and once it was fully charged I took it out for a test flight, straight away I found the low speed mode a great feature especially as I am a novice so it wasn’t whipping about like a wasp like some of the small drones I have seen so was able to have good control at a steady pace, I found it very easy to control and switched the video on a simple case of pressing the button on the controller.

I have uploaded a video of my flight and in the second half some video from the built in camera, the quality is very good on my computer but please be aware it does tend to degrade when uploaded to amazons video storage so hopefully it is still good enough to show you it in flight and the video capture.

Kabalo Electronic Portable Lunch Box Food Warmer

I purchased this for my wife as she often works long days and sometimes night shifts and likes a hot meal rather than cold snacks. It’s quite a neat little unit and is well made with the finishing looking good. It has good storage space inside and perfectly adequate to store a good size meal.

 

My wife has now given this a good test and she really likes it although she did have two points of criticism the first being it takes around 2 hours to warm a meal and the second being the lead has no storage although you are able to disconnect it from the unit so didn’t consider it a major flaw. She also noted now she is aware of the length of time it would take to heat the contents she would plug it in 2 hours before she planned to eat.
